Mantra-OM-AUM also is one of the most sacred mantra of Hinduism. It symbolizes the Divine Brahman and the entire Universe. Also called OMKARA ("syllable OM").
Its meaning:
This syllable is also called the Udgitha (strong edge) or Pranava Mantra (prayer vibrant "), being Prau pranauti or" make a vibrating sound, it is considered by the Hindus primordial sound source and the source of most of the Mantras (Mantras are considered divine words or sounds and powerful).
The OM is the symbol of the essence in Hinduism. It means oneness with the Supreme, the combination of the physical and spiritual. It is the sacred syllable, the first sound of the Almighty, the sound from which emerges all other sounds, whether music or language.

In the Upanishads this sacred syllable appears as a mystic tones considered by the Scriptures as the true basis of any other sacred mantra or hymn. Not only is the sound of origin but also the end. Taitreya According to Upanishad the origin of language is assigned to Prajapati (another name of the creator god Brahma, whose meditation on the three letters AUM arise the three Vedas, as well as three words: bhu (Earth), BHUVA (atmosphere) and Suah (Sky), we can see in the Gayatri Mantra or intercessions, for example.

In the yogic system this powerful Mantra or mystic sound is "BIJA" or Ajna Chakra SEED. Through repetition of mind and fixity of mind in this chakra, this is activated, the life currents stop working on a dual and dissolves the illusion of separateness and individuality.
